up for discussion | the new normal
The on-going pandemic has struck the aviation industry hard, with international passenger traffic almost coming to a complete halt earlier this year with regions recording decline above -98%. A few months ago, we held a live panel discussion where we discussed the challenges facing the industry, and thoughts on how to navigate through the pandemic from an airside perspective.
Now, we’re once again joining forces with Modalis to host a follow-up session, continuing where our panel discussion “Navigating the Pandemic” left off this spring. The focus this time around will be on "the new normal" and the recovery phase for our industry.
We’ll start with a look at air traffic volumes and how the recovery from dramatically low levels takes shape in various regions around the world. Besides the mostly negative impact on airports we’ll highlight some positive developments where airports have used the opportunity to speed up projects during a period with low operational disturbance. Finally, the panelists will discuss lessons learnt and best practices on health safety, social distancing, passenger processing, collaboration between airports and airlines, and what can be expected in the near future.
